Summer Boat Ramp Attendant

We’re looking for a friendly, confident and practical person to join our team as a Boat Ramp Attendant over the busy summer period at Kaiteretere.

About the role:

Based at the Kaiteretere boat ramp, you’ll help keep one of the busiest areas of the Reserve operating safely and smoothly during the peak summer season.

You’ll be the friendly face of the boat ramp, assisting boaties and visitors, helping manage vehicle and trailer movements, checking boat ramp fees, assisting with mooring allocations and keeping an eye on activity around the ramp and surrounding area. 

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, approachable and confident dealing with the public
• Practical, observant and safety-conscious
• Comfortable working outdoors in a busy environment

• Able to communicate clearly with boaties, visitors and other beach users

• Comfortable using EFTPOS/payment devices and able to accurately process boat ramp fees and other payments

• Reliable and able to work independently as well as part of the wider KRR team
• Happy to work weekends and public holidays during the peak summer period

The role involves spending much of the day outdoors in one of the best locations in Kaiteretere, while helping ensure the boat ramp remains safe, organised and welcoming.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, which KRR will arrange.
