Love Kaiteriteri & the Tiaki Promise #4

Drive Carefully

As we all love Kaiteriteri, its people and visitors, our latest blog reminds you to drive carefully this summer on our NZ roads.

Drive Carefully

New Zealand has some of the most amazing scenic drives in the world, but our roads can be challenging. Please drive carefully to keep yourself and others safe on the road.

Take Your Time

New Zealand roads are busy in summer, with cars, trucks, caravans, campervans, and cyclists, we want you all to make it safely to Kaiteriteri, so please slow down and take your time. Allow more time than you think you will need and make the journey part of your holiday.

Watch Out for Wildlife

Our native birds and animals, often stray onto roads, so please take extra care. This particularly applies around the Kaiteriteri coastline, where our endangered blue penguins are often seen at night crossing our roads and have unfortunately been hit by vehicles.

Take a Break

Many of our visitors travel a long distance to be with us in Kaiteriteri, towing caravans, and in a car with irritable children, packed to the rafters with everything for that summer holiday. Take a break and stop to revive yourself, enjoying many of the attractions along the way or a well-deserved food stop in Murchison at Tutaki Pies or the Zen Man

Don't Drink and Drive

It may be the festive season, but the same rules still apply. We encourage you not to drink and drive this summer and take extra time in the morning if you have enjoyed a late night.
