Kaiteriteri Walking Tracks

Explore and wander with stunning views of Kaiteriteri Beach and beautiful native bush through the Mountain Bike Park.

Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve offers an idyllic setting for walkers and those who like to explore at a slower pace.

To make the most of your day, we recommend starting with a delicious flat white from Kākā Point Cafe and enjoy looking out over the beachfront view.

There are various trails across the Reserve, from easy twenty minute walks over to Little Kaiteriteri Beach or Withells Walk, to advanced trails that weave through the Mountain Bike Park.

Check out the map below to view the options, or have a chat to our friendly Guest Services team for local info.

If choosing 'One Step Beyond' here are the details: Our "One Step Beyond" walking trail showcases lush native bush and protected wetlands. This advanced 1.5 to 2-hour walk provides the perfect opportunity to unwind and enjoy a well-deserved coffee or lunch at Waterfront upon your return. If you have walking poles, we recommend you take them.

Continue your journey across Monster hub and follow the green walking signs for 10-15 minutes until you reach "Revelation." Pass through Ziggy hub, descend the access road to Martin Farm Rd, and make your way past Bethany Park. Follow the Estuary track back to where you started at Waterfront.

From there, head south along the Great Taste trail, circling the estuary and crossing the bridge into Martin Farm Rd. Follow the trail, crossing the road, until you reach Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park. Look out for signs leading you to the Coppins loop and up the zig-zag trail into the park. After a brief 5–10-minute walk, you'll find the entrance to the dedicated "One Step Beyond" walking track. This scenic path winds through native bush and across serene wetlands, eventually ascending above Kim Ora.
