Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve is seeking a motivated and people-focused Guest Services Team Leader to help lead our front-of-house operations and support our Guest Services team in delivering outstanding experiences to visitors from around New Zealand and the world.

About the Role

As the Guest Services Team Leader, you will provide day-to-day leadership during shifts, ensuring smooth reception and booking operations while maintaining high standards of customer service. You'll work closely with the Guest Services Manager and act with delegated authority when required, helping to resolve guest issues, coordinate team activities, and support operational excellence.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment, and can confidently lead by example.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Guest Services team during daily operations
  • Deliver exceptional customer service across phone, email, and face-to-face interactions
  • Assist with bookings, enquiries, and guest communications
  • Support staff development and ensure professional service standards are maintained
  • Manage guest concerns and complaints professionally
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth guest experiences
  • Complete administrative tasks including banking, account enquiries, and reporting
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed accurately
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-presented reception environment

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in customer service, tourism, hospitality, accommodation, or reception operations
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Confidence using booking and computer systems
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • A commitment to health and safety and delivering outstanding guest experiences

First Aid certification would be advantageous.
