If anyone ever asks what one event to put on the list for the run of a lifetime it’s the Abel Tasman Coastal Classic.  Back in 1994, the event began and 30 years on places on the Awaroa startline are still keenly sought after, and that certainly still rings true after over 200 keyboard warriors flung into action when entries opened for the October 7th, 2023 edition.

The approx 35km Trailrun back to Marahau along the pristine coastal pathway offers all and finishers time wise and effort is the equivalent of a marathon. Come stride into paradise along the renowned Abel Tasman National Park.

Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve Camping Ground is the event base for the Abel Tasman Coastal Classic, where Registration will be held.

Boat transport for all runners will be from Kaiteriteri, making for a relaxed start to the day. There are a number of accommodation options within the Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve of Apartments, Cabins and Tent sites.

Upon disembarking at Awaroa, there will be a mass start and you will begin your epic run in the World-famous Abel Tasman track to the Marahau finish. All is soon forgotten however at the Banquet celebrations back at the Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve who loyally support the event.

Entries are limited to 350 and entries received after the 350 limit is reached will be placed on a first come waiting list and processed when a spot becomes available and is confirmed by the competitor.
